Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree from the department of English literature. Mitchell was hired by KYW Radio and TV as an Philadelphia reporter in the year 1967. 1976 Mitchell joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington she was made general reporter by NBC News two year later. She began to cover the White House in 1981 and was appointed chief congressional correspondent in 1988. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House reporter in 1992, and chief Foreign Affairs correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell is a former panelist, as well as presenter of the TV show Meet the Press. Mitchell participated on a panel during the debate in 1988 with George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has received numerous awards in journalism, among them an award called the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. Mitchell was also awarded by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell began reporting on the White House in 1981-1988, and during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Mitchell covered a number of noteworthy news stories throughout time, including the tax reforms, budget reforms and the Iran Contra saga. She traveled extensively together with Reagan as well as Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
